Fri, 8 August 2008 We start out the show with a recap of our N3rd adventures at the Willard Rehab Facility.
We recap Kwip and his caring and compassionate nature as leader of a
caravan of cars and our adventures on and about the grounds of Kwip's
uncles house. The scariest thing we found was how SCARY AWESOME Kwip's
relatives were at being hosts. I was eating their brownies until
yesterday. Delicious. Here's the pics I took of the trip. My wife looks hot. So does Kwip. Also, Bini crawls in a morgue box thing. It's a hoot.
Also, despite Kwip's public service in helping you out by telling
you about Zombies. In a crisis, do NOT rely on Kwip. YOU ARE ON YOUR
OWN! GRANDPA WILLIAMS WILL FUCKING STAB YOU and feed you to the ZOMBIES
and tokyo-drift on your face.
We aren't sure why Penny Arcade, who runs the awesome PAX, decided
to run with Reed, the people who so poorly handled our interactions
with NYCC. But they did, so hopefully they will learn from their
horrible treatment of the N3rds. They will RUE THE DAY!!! DO YOU RUE
IT????
We talk about San Diego fall-out and chit-chat for a while about various and sundry topics regarding San Diego.
We talk about the comics this week. You don't need to know about them, just listen. It's the stuff we usually get.
I also talk about how stupid I feel that I don't understand Final
Crisis or Grant Morrison at all. I feel like I should have a primer
before reading each issue.
I sing the Heralds of Invincible Iron Man...I really enjoy it. No one else gets it...probably because we all hate the art.

Sun, 9 December 2007 So you know how sometimes we have little problems with the show?
THEY WERE NOTHING! This week we had more problems than I could recount
in this limited space. But it seems that most of those problems were
related to Stickam. Not the fault of Stickam, of course - it’s pretty
obvious that it was my fault. I mean, that’s a given with our show,
right? Titles we spoil this week: JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #15,
JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED #40, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #11, HERO BY
NIGHT VOL 1 HC, INFINITE HORIZON #1 (OF 6), INVINCIBLE #47, AVENGERS
INITIATIVE ANNUAL #1 SII, HOWARD THE DUCK #3 (OF 4), MARVEL ADVENTURES
SPIDER-MAN #34, THE ORDER #5, TWELVE #0, ULTIMATES 3 #1 (OF 5) WHITE
VAR , INFINITE HORIZON #1, RESURRECTION #1, YOU’LL HAVE THAT Vol 1,
LIFE MAXX, VENICE IS SINKING, BOOMTOWN SCABS, GENERAL JACK COSMOS,
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #9, SHORTPACKED. When we’re not busy failing
to broadcast on stickam, we recap all the books that Rusty picked up at
the Mid-Ohio Comic Con. We also discuss comic pirates, gay Thor
tributes, JMS thinks One More Day sucks, Rucka leaves, Slott stays,
jerking off into tornados, shunning monster moms, hope for Shadowrun
again, and the Swamp Thing lives - in Indonesia.
We’ve always liked BOOM! and thought they were pretty classy guys, and throwing a party for your fans definitely proves it.
Nobody but me cared, but hope for Shadowrun has been rekindled now that the IP has found a new home in an old face.
I think we need to go back to shunning. The Amish practice it and it
works for them, so how can that be bad, right? And if you can’t give
this mother the ass-kicking she obviously deserves, shunning’s not a bad alternative.
You could tell me a lot of things about the SciFi channel and I’d
believe them without question. I love the *concept* of a Sci-Fi
channel, but the execution is - well, it’s bad. They make ridiculous choices, produce Gord-awful movies, and seem completely retarded at times. But do I believe they’d lie about viewer stats? I’m afraid so. It’s the only way I can explain this.
The X-Files movie sucked. Sorry, but it did. I hate the alien
conspiracy storyline because it went all over the place but didn’t
advance the story in the slightest. It was much more fascinating when
you didn’t know what was going on. When they set out to actually answer
questions, it turned to complete shit. So it’s not exactly like I have
high hopes for any future movies. But I do like Xzibit. And it’s not
like he could make the movie any WORSE. So long as they get Gillian to make out with another hot chick (thus the tie-in with Amanda Peet), I’m fine.
If I could have gotten the mics working correctly, I would have shown everyone the new GTA IV trailer. I like the GTA series; they’re very fun and a superb useage of open-ended gameplay. I just wouldn’t let my kids play them.
I used to enjoy the movie Twister. Never again.
We love Dan. Someday, when he joins in wedded bliss with Gail Simone
and they adopt us as their illegitimate love children and read us
bedtime stories every night before tucking us in to bed, all will be
right with the world. But that can’t happen until Slott takes over
Marvel, of course. Which really needs to happen soon. The guy is just
too full of good ideas, and every time he talks it’s gold.
Rucka to DC: How ’bout go fuck yerself?
If you aren’t reading Initiative this is a good place to jump on and start enjoying the awesomeness that is Initiative.
Chris Eliopoulos is one of the deities in the N3RD Panth3on. They need to stop screwing around and get Franklin Richards out every month. At LEAST.
Poor JMS. I don’t know what sort of pressure was applied to him to force him to keep his name on the Gord-awful One More Day project, but I’m going to assume it involves his loved ones and hungry dogs. JMS thinks One More Day is fucking stupid, too!
The childhood trauma continues. Laugh now, because that little girl’s going to rule the world someday, mark my words.
You know, when the guys at GlintOfHope tell you they’ve found the gayest Thor tribute ever, they’re not kidding.
Now we know where inspiration for the Swamp Thing came from. And I think I’ll never sleep soundly again.
The comic book pirating debate continues.
I don’t think there’s any way the pirates will ever win and I think
they’re fighting a losing battle, but I’ll watch from the sidelines.
As always, there’s a lot of problems with the show this week. This
time they mostly stem from the chatroom so the podcast isn’t horribly
affected. The show does get boosted about 22 minutes in as I attempt to
correct problems in the chatroom, so brace yourself (and your ears). I
gave Dr. Sexy control over his levels this show, so don’t complain to
me if you can’t hear him! I will say that we’ve found some new things
to do with the chatroom webcams and although it’s not perfect, it does
make for some interesting viewing. So if you get a chance, get into the
chat room with us Saturday afternoons from 12-3.

Sun, 9 September 2007 A HORRIBLE recording as we try and put together a segment while
driving back from the Baltimore Comic Con featuring show highlights.
Because nobody asked for it: a special clip featuring Dr. Sexy and
Kwip, completely drunk and being even bigger idiots than normal.
Seriously. It’s BAD.
I’m not talking about the sound quality, although that alone is
enough to make your eardrums drive themselves straight through your
brain. No, I’m talking about the kind of drunken slurring and slurping
that only the TRULY sloppy drunks can achieve.
Listening to this ,
I’m amazed that more people don’t want to hang out with us when we’re
drunk. I mean - hello? Are we not the epitome of culture and
sophistication?
Man. I think I actually licked the mic at one point while recording that. Isn’t THAT a pleasant image…
Again, for those of you still clueless on how links work (or
suffering from poor color vision), you can listen to the show by
clicking our Pu Pu Player below:
Remember, this Saturday’s our big debut on the Cringe Humor Radio Network .
I think we’ve mentioned a few times we’re excited. We’re trying to lure
Gail Simone into calling in, and we have it on good intel that she’s
agreed to do so, if only to read her restraining order to me aloud over
the phone.
Pshaw, like I’ll listen to THIS one…
If you’re one of the unfortunate souls that met us in Baltimore, why
not drop us a line and let us know how we offended you. Methinks our
email account will be pretty full after the binge drinking myself and a
certain sexy member of the show did down there…
Email: N3RDCast@gmail.com
Skype: N3RDCast
Phone: 646-797-2763
Look, I’m not going to be subtle anymore: instead of listening to
this episode, just stick an icepick in your ear. It’ll be about the
same sound quality, and likely JUST as informative…

Mon, 3 September 2007
A short list of spoilers this week: 52
AFTERMATH THE FOUR HORSEMEN #1, ACTION COMICS #855, BATMAN ANNUAL #26
HEAD OF THE DEMON, COUNTDOWN 35, TEEN TITANS #50, TEEN TITANS GO #46,
BRIT #1, WALKING DEAD #41, AVENGERS INITIATIVE #5, SILVER SURFER
REQUIEM #4, SPIDER-MAN ONE MORE DAY SKETCHBOOK, ENIGMA CIPHER #2,
WARHAMMER 40K DAMNATION CRUSADE, WARHAMMER FORGE OF WAR. We also
discuss the CBQ promo featuring our gayest moments, Cap vs. the
terrorists, the Joust movie/graphic novel, Vladimir Kulich as Thor, Ben
Stiller and Owen Wilson hopefully NOT in JLU, the Panelologists are the
most brilliant, wise comic chaps in the world and Dan Slott and Gail
Simone should heed them immediately, we take on Killing Pickman
critics, more radio discussion, and the AFKers.
I can’t believe the Queers are leaving us hanging. To make matters worse, they’re playing some of OUR gayest moments as a teaser for THEIR show ! I think we should make a “straightest CBQ moments clip segment in revenge…
Before we got started recording the show, I sat down and watched the Mist trailer .
Did you see it yet? I’m due for heartbreak, I know, but it looks
completely bad-ass. It seems - again, judging SOLELY from this brief
preview - that they’re being extremely faithful to the original short
story, which I absolutely loved. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
I never read the original Rambo story, relying instead upon the Sly
version (which, I’ll readily admit, I loved muchly - just the first
one, don’t kill me). So I don’t know where David Morrell is coming from
when he wants to send Captain America to Afghanistan . As I said on the show, I guess we can’t win the real war, might as well win the fictitious one.
I’m with JK Parkin
about this Joust movie/graphic novel treatment. It CAN’T be for real.
Can it? I’ll be the first to call Joe Q a self-serving whore who would
do anything for a buck, but I can’t even imagine HIM approving such a
thing. And if HE wouldn’t do this, then who would touch such an
incredibly shitty property? Oh. Right .
How the hell did HappyJack never see 13th Warrior? Unbelievable. But that’s why he can’t understand how incredibly perfect Vladimir Kulich
would be for the role of Thor. You need a huge guy, someone with a rock
chin and massive shoulders for this role. I don’t care that Vlad’s 51,
he’s still perfect. I’m tired of superheroes looking so young; Thor can
be an adult.
Yes, it’s true: I hate Ben Stiller and think he’s terribly
over-rated. I’ve hated just about every single role he’s ever done. But
it’s possible that’s my own jealousy from him being friends with
Janeane Garofalo (she should be MY friend! Also, LOVER!). But as a
voice actor, I wouldn’t hate him as Batman. Live actor? Shit yeah. But
either way, Owen Wilson as Supes ? Ugh. And I LIKE Owen Wilson.
Obviously the Panelologists know what they’re talking about. If you
want to hear their entire spiel about Gail Simone and Dan Slott (and
you really need to), you can listen to their 26th episode . Really, you should listen to all of them, though.
We don’t really defend Pickman so much as pointing out that the reviewer
is an idiot. Look, I’ll gladly give you a free pass on the art comments
- although HappyJack and Sexy take issue with them - but the points you
raise? It’s okay to be a LITTLE confused, but if you can’t follow the
story in KP, might I suggest something more up your alley ?
Join the AFKers now. Before we start charging admission!
Oh, and for those of you that don’t listen to the N3RDCasts and just
stop in for my brilliant writing (hi mom!): the big news story is that
the N3RDCast got picked up by an internet radio station. We’ll be
broadcasting LIVE Saturday afternoons from noon to 3pm (EST) on the Cringe Humor Radio Network ,
so you can not only call in live, but join us in our interactive chat
room and totally ruin the flow of the show (if we had one) by flashing
your boobs! No manboobs, please; got enough of them already.
We’re excited about it and a little nervous. It’s one thing to not
be listened to by… Well, anyone, really. But to enter an existing
market full of people (ie, O&A fans) that hate your sort of people
(ie, comic & video game nerds), it doesn’t really lend itself to
chemistry, you know?
Well, I guess it actually does, but it’s more the sort of chemistry of “Hey, look! Ammonia! Let’s add it to this Bleach and see what happens!
The show breakdown is thusly:
15:00 - Just the Tip
23:35 - Dr. Sexy’s Love Lounge
39:00 - HappyJack’s Hall Of Hate
54:55 - Kwip’s Clueless Corner
1:01:10 - Closing Thought(lessness)s
Again, here’s the show for you interweb-savvy types. For everyone else, the helper button:
We actually had TWO voicemails this time despite my forgetting to
post our contact info last show, so let’s see what happens THIS time!
Email: N3RDCast@gmail.com
Skype: N3RDCast
Phone: 646-797-2763
C’mon, call us and get crazy. I mean, hey, you can even be REALLY
crazy and say how badly we’re going to fail once we go live! It’ll be
fun!

Mon, 27 August 2007
Titles we spoil this week: BATMAN #668,
BATMAN LOBO DEADLY SERIOUS #1, GREEN LANTERN CORPS #15, SPIRIT #9,
HIDING IN TIME #2, INVINCIBLE #45, WALKING DEAD #40, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN
#543, ASTONISHING X-MEN #22, CABLE DEADPOOL #44, HALO UPRISING #1,
IMMORTAL IRON FIST #8, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN #40, THE ORDER #2,
THUNDERBOLTS #116, WOLVERINE #56, X-MEN #202, TANK GIRL THE GIFTING #3.
We also discuss a LOT of news: baby’s kicking, Dee Snider’s kid,
original Avengers artwork being discovered, Matt Fraction is a lucky,
lucky man, Jason Becker refuses our constructive criticism, the
Gorillaz toys are sweet, HappyJack tries to put out my eye with a
napkin, GI Joe’s going to the big screen - but will it contain the
same, subtle homoeroticism, it’s crazy to consider remaking Enter the
Dragon, Robin and Chris Hansen doing an intervention, and our BIG HUGE
ANNOUCEMENT!
The Spewgilist interview is supposedly on this page, but I’ve yet to get that page to work. For me, I just went right to the MP3 file.
Dr. Sexy was completely horrified to view this baby-kicking video,
but Jason and I thought it was pretty awesome, so screw Sexy. I don’t
know if where I’m at in my life with my biological clock ticking makes
the difference, but I think they’re amazing and I loved all of them.
However, I also loved the Alien movies, so that’s a totally different…
well, no, the videos are about the same.
Dee Snider’s a great rocker and everything, but why on earth would he think bringing his kid in to work on his comics is a good idea? Well, actually why did he think HIM working on a comic is a good idea, for that matter?
Yeah, there’s no way they’re getting that original Avengers artwork, but at least they can say they helped return it to the proper owners. That’s gotta be good karma, right?
When the guys shot me the link to a site called, “Girl Farts, I was
completely horrified. But I have to say, Kelly Sue DeConnick is a hella
cool chick. Check her website out;
beside being cool herself, she’s married to Matt Fraction. and they’re
going to have a kid, so that child’s just going to be basking in
froodness from day one.
I’m not a big fan of most of the stuff on Kidrobot, but I’d love to get those Gorillaz figures.
Jason’s pretty deadly with rolled-up napkins, so watch out.
We love Keith Giffen, so reading his plans for the Four Horsemen is fascinating. Definitely going to get that.
Rags Morales and Rob Liefeld really went at it on the Newsarama message boards. You can read the whole thing if you’d like, but I’d recommend skipping all the peripheral stupidity and reading the Glint of Hope recap instead.
Dr. Sexy hates Howard Chakin’s art, but we all hate the concept of shooting Wolverine to keep him under control. Silly.
Marvel Comics Presents is coming back, so that’s good news. If they do a good job with it, of course.
GI Joe has lots of good home-eroticism in it, so it’ll be fun to see how that translates into the big screen.
I was angry about them remaking Enter the Dragon, but I guess it’s not really a remake, is it?
The breakdown of this show looks something like this:
37:04 - Just The Tip
45:46 - Dr. Sexy’s Love Lounge
1:03:10 - HappyJack’s Hall Of Hate
1:16:45 - Kwip’s Clueless Corner
For those of you that can actually understand how the interweb works
and know what to click on to download the show, go ahead and click here. The rest of you can use the PuPuPlayer I’m toying around with:
If you’re interested in learning more about CringeHumorRadio, you can check out their website
- just be aware that it’s in the process of being updated, so don’t let
the fact it hasn’t been updated in forever scare you. They really did
ask us to join, I promise I’m not making that up! Well… I THINK it was
them… or at least someone purporting to be them… hrmmm…

Mon, 20 August 2007 Titles we spoil this week: BOOSTER GOLD #1, FLASH #231, JUSTICE
LEAGUE OF AMERICA #12, PROGRAMME #2, CAPTAIN AMERICA #29, FRIENDLY
NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #23, NEW X-MEN #41, SPIDER-MAN FAMILY #4,
SUB-MARINER #3, SUPER VILLAIN TEAM UP MODOKS 11 #2, TERROR INC #1. We
also discuss our day at the Lehigh Valley Comic Con, shrimping, we
dissed Rusty, being next to CJ Henderson, meeting Chris Ring (and
promptly getting his name wrong, good ol' Dutchy Digest, is Erica
Henderson hot, RIP Mike Wieringo (and, uh, Mike Mignola’s cat), Manga
blows, we love LunaticRadio.com, ChaosRadioShow.com, KomicsKast,
Panelologists, and Comic Book Noise, send in your nominations for the
Noisies!
It was nice being next to CJ Henderson, he’s a wondefully nice guy,
but he’s TOO nice, because he talked me into buying half his damn
library! It’s cool - he gave me several copies of "Cthulhu Sex" to
share with Kwipette, so she didn’t beat me for spending all that money.
Just, you know, for coming back with a bunch of Cthulhu Sex…
And, uh, don’t mention I was inquiring about his daughter, would
you? With as many books as he’s written on the Cthulhu mythos, he’d
probably have Hastur showing up at my door.
Chris Ring did a great pic of MODOK on his site, but I wish he had a copy of the print I bought to show you, it’s really great.
Dutchy Digest is the perfect companion to our profanity-laced selves. Granted, Bruce
couldn’t do much when I was making lewd gestures towards the young girl
in the mini-mini-MINI-schoolgirl skirt, but there you go.
RIP, Mike Weiringo. Everyone says you were a Hell of a guy, and I’m
sorry I didn’t get to meet you. Mad props to Scott Kurtz for posting
such a touching story about him.
Manga blows, Lunatic Radio and Chaos Radio are some great internet radio shows we’ve been digging, but you should also be listening to the Panelologists, the Comic Book Queers, KomicsKast, and Comic Book Noise. Oh! And Derek is taking nominations for the Noisies.
This week’s breakdown:
14:23 - Just the Tip
20:08 - Dr. Sexy’s Love Lounge
30:14 - HappyJack’s Hall Of Hate
36:18 - Kwip’s Clueless Corner
41:33 - Closing Thought(lessness)s
We were a bit short this week. Likely that's because we dissed Rusty and we were pretty damn tired after the show.

Mon, 13 August 2007 Some of the titles we spoil this week (because I forgot to write
them down and am too lazy to look them all up): BATMAN #667, BLACK ADAM
THE DARK AGE #1, COUNTDOWN 38, FABLES #64, GREEN ARROW YEAR ONE #3,
GREEN LANTERN #22, JACK OF FABLES #13, DAREDEVIL #99, NEW AVENGERS #33,
PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL #10, X-FACTOR #22, BOYS #9, BLACK SUMMER #1. We
also discuss HappyJack’s honeymoon exploits, if the Comfort Inn Airport
really an airport, Gail Simone is a goddess that gifts anything she
touches (hopefully she’ll touch me), Color Of Magic on TV, Vinnie Jones
is the man, Neil Young references cause fights, who said I hate
Nightwing - I confess, I’m an idiot, Palmiotti’s a funny guy even if we
do hate all his creations, what does a 99 entail, brief interruption
with some terrible misogynist jokes, and check out our new format. It’s
n3rdalicious!
Gail Simone is a blessing on anything she touches, but she really out-did herself on the Teen Raider cartoon. Check it out on Gametap’s website.
The preview of Jekyll
looks pretty cool, I must admit. I’m not sure if I’ll ever get around
to watching it since I never have any luck with my Pay Per View, but
maybe I can pick it up on Pay Per View someday.
Despite the guys and I coming to blows over it, you can make up your own mind about Neil Young in a graphic novel.
I haven’t seen Hogfather yet, but supposedly it was very well done, so that offers some hope for Color of Magic.
Vinnie Jones is THE MAN. I’m not saying that a Juggernaut movie is a
great idea or anything, but it’s cool that Vinne at least has a sense of humor about the whole thing. He’s still the best thing about that abomination X3.
So I had to catch a rash of shit for hating Nightwing. I still think
he sucks. But still! Milo Ventimiglia is a dipshit for wanting to screw up the Batman franchise when it’s just barely got it’s feet back under it after the debacle it’s become.
So no, we don’t like anything he’s ever done (and Jason hates him because… Well, just because), but Palmiotti is funny as hell at the Who Wants to be a Hero panel.
The Lehigh Valley Comic Con
isn’t on the scale of New York or Philadelphia, but Bruce tells us it’s
a pretty good time. Doubtful we’ll get a table, but we might drag
ourselves away for a weekend to check it out.
Dr. Sexy totally set me up for some crazy story to happen, but it turns out it was just a great night with an awesome writer. Joss is cool, what can we say?
Apparently, we can say a LOT of things. This show is the HOLY MACKEROLEE RELAUNCH of our show.
I’m not sure why we felt the need, but I’m insane like that, so we’ve
re-tooled the show with some new segments. If you’re in a rush or
happen to hate one (or more) of us and want to jump through our
segments, we break down like this:
13:06 - Just the Tip
17:54 - King of the Cons (with Mad Rusty)
27:17 - Dr. Sexy’s Love Lounge (a discussion of things that came out this week we loved)
43:55 - HappyJack’s Hall of Hate (a discussion of things that came out this week we hated)
57:15 - Kwip’s Clueless Corner (books for people that don’t have a clue
about any comic universe/history/lore and just want a good read)
I keep catching crap from people because first, I don’t put our
email address on the site. Then if they DO find it (by doing such
terrible acts as listening to our show), they get mad when I don’t read
their email “on air. And I won’t even go into how rarely we use the
Skype line (but in my defense, I have a LOT of trouble getting that
damn thing working on the second computer). BUT - allow me to post
here, in nice big letters, our contact info:
Email: N3RDCast@gmail.com
Skype: N3RDCast
Phone: 646-797-2763
I don’t know why I’m bothering, you’re not going to use it anyway!
Oh, you SAY you will, but you never call… And who am I… After all I’ve
done for you…

FAKER #2, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #8, METAL MEN #1, MIDNIGHTER #10,
WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY #9, DAREDEVIL BATTLIN JACK MURDOCK #3, DARK
TOWER GUNSLINGER BORN #7, IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #11, NEW AVENGERS

#489, WORLD WAR HULK #3, CLOCKWORK GIRL #0, GARTH ENNIS CHRONICLES OF
WORMWOOD #6, KILLING PICKMAN #1. We also discuss how pedophiles (pedos)
do NOT buy you good food, thank God Rob Leifield’s back because we need
more pouches and shoulder pads, Dan Slott and Gail Simone are National
Treasures (and also need to marry AND adopt me), a secret message for
our one listener, have I mentioned I love the Panelologists, Jason
Becker OBVIOUSLY owes EVERYTHING to us, a challenge to Palmiotti fans,
and never trust an Aztec.
Does anyone else find the humor in the fact that we just finish
talking about how pedophiles always bring McDonald's food to their prey
and Dr. Sexy then thanks me for getting him some Bacon Egg & Cheese
biscuits?
Kevin Smith really dropped the bomb on this asshole,
and it's a beautiful moment. Love that guy. Not the asshole - I mean
Kevin Smith. Seriously, though - you can’t mess with a guy that’s got
the mic, you know? Well, unless you’re Joe Rogan.
Is the name “Pickman from Killing Pickman from Pickman’s Model by HP Lovecraft?
These pics of the girls from the Comic Con
are amazing. You have to have a lot of confidence in your body to dress
up like Emma Frost, that’s all I’m saying. Fighting mutant killers with
just those panties? Hawtness.
Palmiotti’s working on Defenders Of Freedom, a comic from the ACLU. No, seriously.
The Serenity Collector’s Edition
is a must-have for me. It’s a shame, really: You could have the exact
same thing as the original release, but put a new cover on it and tell
me it’s a “Collector’s Edition? Gotta have it.
Bill Willingham’s new project about the old super villains just sounds awesome. Can’t wait for that thing to come out.
Jason Becker: Hair Band Guitarist. That was a little weird when I was trying to tell people about him and they googled his name.
John Singleton has a tough choice ahead of him: Black Panther or Luke Cage.
The way Black Panther’s being written nowadays, it’s no choice, it’s
stupid as Hell. BUT - if you take the Priest run on Black Panther…
Damn, that’s some good stuff, there.
Hero Envy’s Philly Recap
is great stuff and I feel stupid for having taken so long to put a link
up to it, but you can see us in all our glories in the coverage.
By now you’ve already read it everywhere else, but yeah, Marvel
Super Hero comics are going on sale. I got the DC ones, so I’ll
probably knuckle under and get the Marvel ones as well, since I’m dumb
like that. Not impressed with their line-up (other than The Thing),
though.
If you’re going to Chicago Wizard World, you really need to check out the Comic Book Queers’ Guide to Chicago. I sooooo wish we could make it. Next year!

completely to hell, Dr Sexy has very strange Joker dreams seemingly
brought on by the events at whysoserious.com, the “multipoo of
villains in Iron Man, the world’s most valuable comic book, TinTin’s a
nazi, Watchmen’s site is up, PLB Comics got a nice article in the
paper, vote for the Queers, MODOK’s personal hygiene called into
question from a listener email (just one), the Noisies, the Last Will
& Testament of Steve Rogers, Ballpark Hot Dog ads are the STUPIDEST
ADS IN THE WORLD, Ikea has terrible instruction diagrams (because
they’re Swedes), Michael Jackson is the King of Pop, and oh how we love
TaTu!
The whole Joker recruitment drive thing is over, but you can read about the whole thing involving Whysoserious.com over at Comic Book Resources. I love that sort of stuff, so check it out.
I’m still scared of what could happen with The Watchmen on the big
screen, although I do love Zack Snyder for what he did with 300. But…
still, I’m afraid. You can check out what we have to focus on so far at
the official site.
I’m not sure how much the world’s most valuable comic is going to go for at auction, but somehow I doubt my $25 would get me in on the bidding.
Tintin’s such a racist. Little nazi. And his dog, too.
PLB Comics are good guys, so it’s cool to see them discussed in a nice newspaper article.
It makes for some good reading, and it’s worth reading because I love
stories about folks getting into the comic industry and their hopes and
dreams for what they can do.

Mon, 16 July 2007 Titles we spoil this week: BPRD GARDEN OF SOULS #5, BATMAN
CONFIDENTIAL #7, BATMAN STRIKES #35, COUNTDOWN 42, FABLES #63, GREEN
ARROW YEAR ONE #1, GREEN LANTERN #21, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #7,
MAD MAGAZINE #480, CONSUMED #1, DEADPOOL GLI SUMMER FUN SPECTACULAR,
NEW AVENGERS #32, NOVA #4, SUB-MARINER #2, X-FACTOR #21, TICK COMIC CON
EXTRAVAGANZA #1, and finally, TALES FROM THE PIMP (picked up at Wizard
World Philly 07). Baltimore Comic Con hates the N3RDCast, Jason
Becker’s got a kick-ass new book coming out, the Queen LOVES the wang,
Pennsyltucky, DC Comics might just steal your characters - and they’re
not the only ones that do this, copyright vs. trademark, Dr. Sexy
getting fingercuffed, New Orleans, and HappyJack inviting more trouble
from Hero Envy.
Jason Becker’s book Killing Pickman comes out soon, so make sure you check your store for it, because it’s really that awesome.
I’m an idiot - although I DID remember to mention nominations for Comic Book Queers and Hero Envy at Podcast Awards,
the nominations ended yesterday. Dangit. BUT - you can go there to vote
once they’ve tallied all the invitations, so bookmark it now!
It’s kind of disturbing that someone’s really being brought up on charges
for a naked painting of Picasso. If it were him sodomizing a child or
something, sure. But that’s not quite the vibe I’m getting here. Good
ol’ rednecks. Just goes to demonstrate why the CBLDF is so important.
Zudacomics sounded
interesting at first, but after we talked it over (and raised the
ownership question), it became a bit scary. I’m still hoping to hear
more details about it, because it could be a good thing - but, as we
discussed, it could also be very, very bad.
Not sure we’re going to get to record next week, with HappyJack’s
approaching wedding day. We’re going to try very hard, but it’s
possible this might be the last you hear of us for the next two weeks. You may begin celebrating now.

STAR TREK KLINGONS BLOOD WILL TELL #3. We also blather about
HappyJack’s broken back, Japanese people never say “No, HappyJack’s
getting married even though his wife now hates us, Rusty just doesn’t
understand that we spoil EVERYTHING, we’re all going to Hell (yes,
AGAIN), more abusing Rusty, Amazonian seduction (and we get a little
too excited there), Dr. Sexy talks to our listeners, I want to make
sweet, sweet love to Gail Simone, I just CANNNOT keep my mouth near the
mic, I’m all over the goddamned place, but someone else is a complete
mouth-breather and I can’t believe how annoyingly clear that comes
through.
HappyJack’s bachelor party was quite a hoot, I must say. Besides
being the amazing organizer that I am, I ALSO managed to absolutely
charcoal the burgers past any semblence of organic matter. The
“mission, as it were, was at least successful in that we got HappyJack
pleasantly drunk enough to forget, albeit momentarily, his impending
doom. Although it wasn’t a crazy time (not even as minorly crazy as Dr.
Sexy’s bachelor party was), it was a nice, calm night of sitting
around, drinking and enjoying each other’s company.
The whole thing was made better by the fact that HappyJack had
thrown out his back and had the most miserable faces going on the
entire time. We were going to try and drag the Hero Envy guys down for the fun, but considering HappyJack was ALREADY crippled, I don’t think he could’ve taken another run-in with JD…
Even Bruce R. (the podcast whore) and Steve
came down to join in the festivities. Let’s face it: we’re such a
miserable group of bastards that we have to import friends from
surrounding areas. But hey, since they came down for the party, we made
them join in the N3RDCast this week, and a good time was had by all!

ENNIS STREETS OF GLORY PREVIEW. We were REALLY strung out on caffeine
today, because we recorded twenty different segments at once. We talked
about MODOK’s contest, a great Lightning Saga breakdown, Brandon
Molales taking on the Big Cheese, cocksuckery and the Comic Book
Queers, the Quiet! Panelologists at Work podcast, do you have comic
book pride, or is it uncomfortable in public?
The MODOK contest is very cool, provided you can figure out their clever puzzle. And let me tell you right now: I figured it out, so if you can’t, you’re an idiot.
If your understanding of the Lightning Saga was as horrific as mine, you’ll definitely want to check out the awesomely detailed breakdown that CBR put up.
I think Brandon would make an excellent Captain Marvel
- just so long as they keep The Rock as Black Adam, I think we can all
be happy. Provided there’s a good script and director on board, of
course.
I’d like to think that I’m proud of my geekness, but honestly, I
still have trouble in a strange environment just pulling out a comic
book. Especially if it’s somewhere I’m trying to project a
“professional image, like… Well, I don’t know where that would occur,
but pretend it’s somewhere important. But you should listen to the Comic Book Queers when they talk about it,
because it’s a fascinating listen and a really good topic for
discussion. Along those lines, I want to hear other podcasters talk
about how they feel on the subject. Someone get a hold of CGS and get them discussing this! Bruce, I’m looking at you…
The Q!PaW comic podcast is completely awesome. I can’t believe I haven’t heard them before. Why didn’t you tell me about them? Jerks.
We do get a bit heavy on the cocksuckery this week, be warned. It’s to be expected, really. CBQ brought it up and got us all worked up, so what can we do?

Sun, 1 July 2007 It took us a couple weeks to get around to actually reading all our
Philly books, but we’ve finally got through them and got restraints
strong enough to contain HappyJack so we could review his book. We talk
about not just the books we got from the show but also some of the
folks we met, although there’s probably still some ones we forgot. It
was nice to have a chance to reflect upon all the fun stuff and cool
folks we met at Philly - especially since we didn’t lose too many brain
cells while we were there and could remember enough to make for a lengthy discussion.
Jason Becker was the first person to call us knee-fuckers at the
Philadelphia con. In return, we should’ve said bad things about his
book just to teach him not to listen to us, but his book really kicked
ass. It’s still available online, so if you get a chance, pick it up.
The artwork of Bobby Chiu is that goddamned amazing. Seriously, this
guy’s works are masterpieces, and unlike some artists that we love (but
still hate because they don’t release prints, yes we’re looking at you,
Alex Ross), he sells great quality prints at really affordable prices,
so definitely check out his work and pick some up if you’ve got a spot on your wall. He’s also got what look like really cool lessons online that you can sign up for online, if you’re of the artistic bend.
If you like the name JengaJam as much as we do, you can check him out here.
DaFixer is that damn pimp. I mean, just look at the guy’s logo and you’ll see how cool he is. Style (something none of us know the first damn thing about).
We aren’t the only ones to ever talk about Diamond’s gouging, but it still strikes me as insane. It just blows my mind.
I actually managed to track down Christopher Uminga’s site, and you should check it out, the stuff’s amazing. In his gallery, you can see the Joker picture we loved.
Do we really need to plug Hero Envy any more? I mean, honestly, we love those guys and you should’ve already checked them out. Likewise, Stykman which we’ve loved since last year, and DJ Coffman’s Hero By Night,
which we can’t possibly kiss up to any more, but we’re always willing
to try… If you’re at any of the cons those guys are going to be at, you
really need to stop in and meet them.
I couldn’t find a Scott Hanna website, but this
lists some of his work. He’s a really nice guy, despite being stuck
near us. There are all sorts of books he worked on, though, so check
them out.
James S. Abrams and Brett C. Marting did the Archaic comic books.
I’d link to them, but one of them (or possibly BOTH of them) has a
really hot wife, so screw them, life’s given them enough breaks. I
know, I know, I’m just kidding. Go check out their stuff,
it’s great. Their books are really great though, so any chance you have
to see them at any future con, stop in and grab not just their books,
but also some of their artwork. They’re great guys who have ever right
to push their book down everyone’s throat that walks by their booth,
but they don’t - so help them out and walk over to them! Although now
that I look at their pics from other shows, it looks like they were
plenty swamped. And they had booth babes. Why didn’t they have booth
babes for us? Jerks. Granted, the way I go on about their wife(ives),
it’s probably a good idear to keep the purdy gurls away from the wildly
inappropriate fat man. But yeah, their books are awesome.
Heart Attack wasn’t a horrible book, it just wasn’t for me. I’m not one for the bloody gore boobie books, but if you are, you can drop him an email about getting a copy, as I don’t know any other way of contacting him.
PLB Comics‘ preview book had
some good and some bad. I can’t remember which ones were good and which
ones were bad, so you’ll have to listen to us talk about it to decide
which ones we liked, because I’m sure as hell not going to go back
through and listen to it again.
Brielle and the Horror was our favorite book from the con, no doubt. It’s just such a cool-looking book and great story, we absolutely loved it.
I’d link to HappyJack’s website for his Leadslinger Studios’
information, but he didn’t do anything with it, the lazy whore.
Instead, I’ll just link to HappyJack getting his ribs bruised. Too funny.

Mon, 25 June 2007 Titles we spoil this week: AMORY WARS, TANK GIRL, REPO, MARVEL
MYTHOS SPIDERMAN, X-MEN ENDAGERED SPECIES, GREEN ARROW, NEW X-MEN,
WORLD WAR HULK, PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL, NOVA, CAPTAIN AMERICA, FALLEN
SON: SPIDER-MAN, FLASH, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN, NEW AVENGERS,
COUNTDOWN, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, SPIRIT, MOON KNIGHT, FRANKLIN RICHARDS:
BOY GENIUS, JUSTICE, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA. This was supposed to be
our con wrap-up show, but none of us are finished with our con books!
We have too much catching to do, so instead we talk about our books,
ThuMberBolts, Rusty gets confused by comics almost as bad as me, as
much as we love the guy no way Cap is knocking out the Hulk, I have NO
FRIGGIN’ IDEA what the HELL is going on in the DC Universe, lapdances
from Hero Envy, what cons might we be attending in the future, and Dr.
Sexy’s genetic make-up.
The Spirit, directed by Frank Miller,
is just going to be a train wreck. We love Frank Miller, but we have
absolutely no confidence that Frank’s still got the skills to handle
this.
I know I’m the only person here that’s excited about season two of Who Wants to Be A Super Hero, but even I’m shuddering at how stupid some of these “heroes appear to be. Having said that, I’ve got high hopes for my man Mindset. Kick their ass, Steve-Dave!
Stan Lee is the bomb, but he just needs to sit on a beach somewhere
and relax. The man’s being worked ridiculously right now, and these latest “projects are going to smear an incredible legacy that he created. Kinda like Bill Clinton, only with (slightly less) cigar time.
How are rooms in Baltimore more expensive than New York City AND
Philadelphia? Also, what the hell is up with Con people ignoring email?
Jerks. Or maybe they’re slighting us on purpose - in which case, I
absolutely cannot fault them at all. If you’re attending Wizard World
Chicago, you really need to check out the guide that Comic Book Queers put together.
If you were turned on to the show from the Philly Con, first, sorry; second this is the first REAL episode
we’ve done since we’ve been back. Except we’re missing our engineer, so
don’t listen expecting decent quality or anything ridiculous like that.

Sun, 17 June 2007 A VERY brief update. We start out by making TERRIBLE jokes - sorry, but we were just too tired to make any sort of sense or be clever, we remembered to plug Leo and his awesome comic - young guy, but his comic is really great ( check it out), we befriend and over our sage advice to young artists (and their hot mom), did we mention we love the Hero Envy guys (especially their wives - mmmmmm, other people's wives....), Steve McNiven's line showed up today and rumbled with Arthur Suydam's line and blocked our entire aisle, and we actually met a fan and someone from the Comic Book Queers forums (did you get any sleep last night, howtaobrowncow?). All in all, it was a VERY long day, so we apologize for not going into better detail. We do have a lot more pictures to share with you, and once we all get back from the show, we'll get them up for your viewing pleasure. Sat, 16 June 2007 The Monster Maker makes Dr. Sexy go INSANE (or at least interrupting
him while he tries to discuss it does) - although it's actually the "Mighty Men and Monster Maker," the fear of being asked by Archaic to talk about their book
(which proved to be a needless fear, as their book is awesome), being
tackled by Hero Envy (and I apologize for my stupid laugh the entire
time that tale's being retold, but honestly, it was THAT funny) and
having ribs broken, how did Brielle and the Horror do their artwork (because it's fantastic), Jonnie Allan from Stykman is possibly one of the coolest creators to be next to EVER, we absolutely love DJ Coffman,
Mike Cotton from Wizard will apparently come when random idiots scream
his name, the homeless people from NYC have moved into
Philly, and HappyJack TOTALLY got suckered in by the babes from PLB Comics.
I was going to wait until Monday to post this
(which is why you might notice the file name is a bit off of the actual
date), but I'm already exhausted from the Con, and it's entirely
possible come Monday I'll be dead, so why wait, right? And really, I
don't see the point in making you folks wait, considering the terrible
quality of the recording. But hey, for being recorded on a handheld
after a night of Irish-pubbing, it's not as bad as it COULD be...

Titles we spoil this week: COUNTDOWN 47,
DETECTIVE COMICS #833, JACK OF FABLES #11, JONAH HEX #20, MIDNIGHTER
#8, OUTSIDERS #48, WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY #7, INVINCIBLE #42, AVENGERS

PUNISHER #48, UNCANNY X-MEN #487, BLACK SUMMER #0, LONE RANGER #6,
RAISE THE DEAD #3. We also discuss the upcoming Philly Con, why Gail
Simone and Dan Slott should get married and adopt me, Kaigon needs to
stop bothering redesigning N3 and get back to doing his comic, I'm
going to sell 100 copies of HappyJack's comic (better get there
early!), pimping other 'casts at the con, and superfluous nipples.
I'd apologize for this being late, but I honestly think our
relationship has reached that level of comfort that allows us to be
frank with each other. Or Hawkeye. I didn't even really edit this one, so we'll be listening to all the screw-ups and wincing together. It'll be a bonding experience!
We're going to be at booth 2407. I have no idea where 2705 came
from. Sheesh. Stop by and get your greetings on! We're not going to be
wearing N3RD shirts, cuz I'm lazy. Also, cheap. If you want to figure
out where we're going to be in relation to the rest of the building,
you can see the floorplan here.
The Con dominates the horizon. It's actually why this episode was
late - well, peripherally. I had a ton of things to get done before
con, and this rated lower than some of them (things like putting
together bail money, writing down our emergency medical contacts, etc).
It's been a great deal of insanity, gearing up for this thing. I'm
looking forward to life calming down a bit.

ILLUMINATI #3, PUNISHER PRESENTS BARRACUDA MAX #4, SILENT WAR #5,
SILVER SURFER REQUIEM #1, SPIDER-MAN FAIRY TALES #1, BLACK COAT OR GIVE

(yeah, Im good with names), Roller Derby, the Olsen Thrust, the
upcoming Philly Con, why HappyJack cant start a fight with Palmiotti
at the Philly Con, HappyJack sitting on his balls, tapping tailpipes,
and Dr. Sexy gets offended at my male rape offendedness.
Im such an idiot: Manhunters written by Marc Andreyko. If you want to listen to the great interview with him, its over at Comic Book Queers (episode 33).
Lancasters Roller Derby Girls are right here, if youre interested.
Good entertainment at a decent price, so if youre in the area, come
check it out.
If youre wondering about the Olsen Thrust, you really need to read this.
For those of you in the area (the King of Prussia area, that is),
stop in and see Dr. Sexy and his gang in the Daredevils of Comedy
improv comedy show at Kildares in King of Prussia.
Well try and drag HappyJack out with us, and I think we can drag Rusty
(and possibly even Ted) along for the hyucks. So if nothing else, itll
be a good warm-up for Philly (providing we dont get arrested, that is).

Mon, 28 May 2007 Titles we spoil this week: COUNTDOWN 49, SHADOWPACT #13, SPIRIT #6,
UNIQUE #3, CAPTAIN AMERICA, FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #1,
HEROES FOR HIRE #10, IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #8, SHE-HULK 2 #18, X-MEN
#199, WARHAMMER 40K DAMNATION CRUSADE #4, HELLBLAZER #232, SHAUN OF THE
DEAD. We also take some time to discuss how Mary Jane can do Peter’s
laundry - it’s not going to kill her, Joe Q may or may not be an
asshole - but we all hate him for various reasons, Silver Surfer as
currency, is Newsarama partial, Massive Marvel Online, Dr. Sexy and his
knee theories get vindicated by Family Guy, the guys from Comic Geek
Speak need to put on the AmishCon Comic Book Convention, and what those
lightning rods were actually for - oh, and Water Wizard’s on the
Thunderbolts, bitches! I smell a limited edition. HappyJack’s on
vacation this week, so we get Bruce from KomicsKast, our extremely
knowledgeable friend Steve, and we even feature a technical achievement
of having an engineer - introducing Ted, our new Producer! Therefore,
if anything’s wrong with the levels this week, blame him.
It’s pretty impressive, I must admit - Ted’s never seen our setup
before, never worked with the specific equipment we use, yet he was
able to jump in and do a better job than me, the guy who, you know,
bought all that equipment and set it up. And this was his first show,
with a ton of us sitting in there constantly looking away from our
mics. Poor bastard. He’s already planning an elaborate setup involving
electrodes and our testicles to keep us facing our mics.
Bruce is always a welcome addition to the show whenever we can snag him away from his shows. And his comic. And his blog
(nah, screw his blog, he can write that while he’s sitting chatting
with us!). And Steve - does that guy drop the plot bombs on us or what?
Every time he’s here, he blows us away with some heady revelations.
Eli is a newcomer that Dr. Sexy drug along - when we learned that
HappyJack had the nerve to take a vacation (and not bring us along, the
selfish prick), we scrambled and basicaly invited every single person
we could find. Eli had the misfortune to answer the door when Dr. Sexy
came calling. That’ll teach him to be sociable. He interned at Marvel
for some time, so he got a kick out of the “Newsarama Neutrality discussion.
And it turns out that not only did Marvel come up with the wacky idea of making Silver Surfer coins, they seem to have broken the law in doing so. Hilarity ensues!
You can see the video for the proposed Lancaster Convention Center (which will be the location for Comic Geek Speak’s AmishCon, if we can somehow manipulate them into throwing a big comic book convention in the heart of Amish Country!) on their website.
Oh, and that awesome JSA wrap-up episode is right here, if you’re like me and confused about what’s going on in JSA.

NIGHT, SIDEKICK, MIGHTY AVENGERS, MOON KNIGHT, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN,
ULTIMATE X-MEN, ULTIMATES 2, UNCANNY X-MEN, X-FACTOR, NOVA. We also
discuss paper clips, pants-ing your friends, more thoughts on knee sex,
rib shards during sex, anyone dissing DeMattais & Giffen’s run on
JLA deserve to be throat-punched, I can’t keep up with JLA/JSA
nowadays, and Frank Cho always does this to us.
Talk about digging in the dirt - if you really want to understand what we’re talking about with the Frank Cho thing, you can read more here.
Make sure you download Dr. Sexy’s take on the whole thing, too. It has
much better clips in it, but I like the parallel I achieve with
Scotty’s hypocrisy in the ones I used.
Frank Miller, though - man, that guy hates the womenfolk.

Mon, 14 May 2007 Titles we spoil this week: 51 COUNTDOWN, GREEN ARROW, JACK OF

ZOMBIES DEAD DAYS, NEW AVENGERS, NEW X-MEN, NOVA, PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL,
SPIDER-MAN FANTASTIC FOUR, THUNDERBOLTS, GAMEKEEPER, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE
SLAYER, DETECTIVE COMICS, LONERS, WOLF MAN. We also discuss Dr. Sexy's
honeymoon, The Rock playing Black Adam, retard bullies, MODOK's 11, the
passing of Tom Artis, Darby O'Gill, The Black Donnellys, Spider Man 3
(spoiler alert!), midget health insurance (or the lack thereof), and
Kwip's new favorite comic podcast, the Comic Book Queers.
Yes, really, that is their name,
and they are absolutely as funny and as brilliant as you'd expect
(because what's the point of being queer if you're not going to be
funny and brilliant about it?). They really are Homo-Superior. There's
a bunch of episodes to catch up on, so you'd best get cracking. I don't
know that I'm going to call them to discuss knee-fucking - I highly
doubt they'd want to hear from us in the first place, and I ESPECIALLY
doubt they want to hear our questions about knee intercourse. I do want
to ask them about the secret signals, though. That's interesting. But
seriously, you absoutely should check them out, they're the best
podcast out there.
At least now I know what to hand out in Philly - we can burn a bunch of their shows to CD.
Throwing them at people will probably be optional.
You can read about M.O.D.O.K.’s 11 here.
The incredibly touching essay I refer to on Tom Artis (that quickly depresses everyone) is here
(scroll down a bit to the entry titled, "Your message will be saved
for..."). It's a sad, touching story from his close friend. If you can
help Tom's family, you can send donations to:

Our show is REALLLLY long this week. And with that extra length comes a LOT more offensiveness. Seriously. We had to add an extra hour on it, JUST to be THAT offensive.
And yes, Darby O'Gill and the Little People really IS that fantastic.
I bet the Comic Book Queers would agree.

Mon, 7 May 2007 Titles we spoil this week: BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, HELLBOY DARKNESS CALLS, 52, DETECTIVE COMICS, EXTERMINATORS, HAWKGIRL, JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED, MIDNIGHTER, SCALPED, SHAZAM THE MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL, TEEN TITANS, WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY, ASTONISHING X-MEN, AVENGERS INITIATIVE, DARK TOWER GUNSLINGER BORN, FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, INCREDIBLE HULK, LONERS, MARVEL ZOMBIES ARMY OF DARKNESS, PUNISHER, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL, ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR, WONDER MAN, WARHAMMER 40K. This week we look to our friends Bruce, Rusty and Steve to fill in for Dr. Sexy, who's out on his honeymoon. Yes, it takes three normal mortals to fill in for Dr. Sexy. We get really sidetracked here, talking about our local comic shops, Dr. Sexy facing Dan Slott, some of the history of Marvel warehousing, early cons, Dr. Sexy as Howdy Doody sitting on comic creator's laps, Diamond delivers their books via catapult, Bruce being a racist (according to THOOM of Comic Book Noise), sodomy, and the Philly Con. Steve really blew our minds with his observations on Midnighter - we better be careful, having knowledgeable people on the show like this. People might start expecting us to know what the hell we're talking about or something. Steve and Bruce were out promoting Dutchy Digest when we met them, so take a moment to check it out - it's probably the only kid-friendly thing we've ever linked to... We were a bit loopy this week - we're all very excited for Dr. Sexy's return, obviously. After we finished this cast, we all sat down and colored him a picture. And I just realized I screwed up the intro music again, too. Not sure how I did that. Sigh. I’m bringing in a sound engineer, I swear. Mon, 30 April 2007 It's really not even fair to call this a comic book podcast. Which is fair, since we call it a N3RDCast, but whatever. Our focus this week is on the wedding of Dr. Sexy! We don't even really discuss comics, other than some brief, uninformed babbling about DAREDEVIL, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA, USAGI YOJIMBO, HERO BY NIGHT (yes, again), 52, ASTRO CITY, and AVENGERS: FALLEN SON. We're broadcasting to you live from the wedding of Dr. Sexy, so of course the quality is pretty bad - but the content, for those of you with a romantic bent, is very, very rich. This is a painful episode, because we recorded a great deal of it driving, or over the crazy 80s-inspired soundtrack of the wedding reception. Oh, and because we all wept like babes during the wedding. Well, not all of us. Just Dr. Sexy. Most of the recording is Dr. Sexy and I (and Kwipette), because HappyJack was sleeping in like a lazy whore instead of carpooling with us. Something about having worked 96 hours that week or something. Wuss. But you get to listen to us driving and trying to keep Dr. Sexy from getting overly nervous on HIS WEDDING DAY! Unfortunately, we also drove with the windows down, and that resulted in all sorts of wonderful background noise. We would've gone into more details with the books we got this week, but we couldn't remember any of them. How's THAT for professional? Sun, 22 April 2007 Titles we spoil this week: CONAN, 52, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA, WORLD WAR III, HERO BY NIGHT, INVINCIBLE, MIGHTY AVENGERS, MOON KNIGHT, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, X-FACTOR. Mac talks about his experiences with ComixPress, Rusty updates us with talk of the upcoming Philly Con, and then I turn off his mic. Well, really I turn mine off, but as soon as I notice, I turn his off in revenge. We broadcast from the new N3 Studios this time, and you'll notice it obviously offered no benefit to my engineering skills. Yeah, big surprise, I'm an idiot.
If you're interested in checking out Mac's book, you can go to the-agents.us or on ComixPress' site directly. And speaking of sites, the very excellent creator of Hero By Night has his site right here.
Yes, we finished the Walk. It was pretty awesome, I feel free to tell you. I mean, the NeenerPalooza 07 melted faces with it's non-stop rocking (don't take my word for it, we have pics to prove it). But the MS Walk? It was chock full of wacky hijinks (and by wacky hijinks, I mean lots of dropped banana peels, curse that Mario).
Most of the costume awesomeness can be attributed to Mac and Dr. Sexy (although Gryph made a turtle shell that was pretty damn amazing out of paper mache).
But of course, out of all the costumes, King Boo was the obvious favorite.
At least, for the ladies. Direct download: N3RDCast_20070423Comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 8:02 PM
Mon, 16 April 2007 Only a few titles ruined this week because of Bachelor Party constraints: TRUE STORY SWEAR TO GOD, AFTER THE CAPE, MR. STUFFINS, SPIDER-MAN AND FANTASTIC FOUR, ALL-STAR SUPERMAN, BPRD, THE LONERS, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, FABLES, THUNDERBOLTS, NEW AVENGERS, 52, SHE-HULK, DARK TOWER, MARVEL ZOMBIES VS. ARMY OF DARKNESS. This should really be a two-parter. We start out with the usual comic book blathering, but then we have to break it down with our recap of the now-infamous Dr. Sexy Bachelor Party (also known as the STRIPPERGEDDON). I was going to record it "on the fly," as it were, but everyone was faaaar too drunk and noisy. That, and I was busy rocking out some Puzzle Quest. If you're the sort that's not interested in drunken stripper (sorry, Go-Go Girl) debauchery, you'll probably want to stop listening at the 27:22 mark. On the other hand, if you're only here for the drunken debauchery, that's where you'll want to start. Marrakesh really is that great of a restaurant, though. If you ever find yourself in Philly and want an awesome dining experience, you need to give this place a call. Meeting Walt was a big kick. I felt like such a huge, dork, though. I can't imagine how many other dorks come into that place on an uber-nerd pilgrimage, but I bet most of them aren't there for a prequel to STRIPPERGEDDON! Here's hoping that he never listens to this and only thinks of us as minor annoyances and not really the great force for Chaos we actually are. Mon, 26 March 2007 Titles we spoil this week: CONAN #38, 52 WEEK #46, BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL #4, DETECTIVE COMICS #830, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #4, AFTER THE CAPE #1, HERO BY NIGHT #1, WALKING DEAD #36, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #539, MAGICIAN APPRENTICE #6, PUNISHER PRESENTS BARRACUDA MAX #2, WISDOM #4, WONDER MAN #4, X-FACTOR #17, LONE RANGER. We also manage a tiny little love-fest for Joe Q, blather a bit about the Comic Book Challenge, and finally, we call out Hero Envy. I can't help it: those guys are too damn funny, and I think it's only fair that they collect the rest of their episodes together in a DVD so that I can... Well, watch it on a DVD player. Obviously. But I think I hurt myself laughing at the blooper roll from El Diablo. Never mind the actual episode, which makes me cry with laughter every gord-damned time I think of it, the blooper reels are the shit! I think Philly's going to be insane. Just throwing that out there right now, so when you read the police blotter afterwards, you know that we were fully aware of what we were getting into when we planned the whole thing. Mon, 19 March 2007 Titles we spoil this week: 52 WEEK #45, FABLES #58, GREEN ARROW #72, CIVIL WAR THE CONFESSION (PP #749), FRANKLIN RICHARDS MARCH MADNESS, IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #6, MOON KNIGHT #8, NEW AVENGERS #28, PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL #5, SPIDER-MAN REIGN #4, THUNDERBOLTS #112, WOLVERINE ORIGINS #12, DAMNED #5, GARTH ENNIS CHRONICLES OF WORMWOOD #2, LONE RANGER #5, WORMWOOD GENTLEMAN CORPSE #6. Oh, and Captain Gaypants. If you've not heard of him, you really should give this a listen. It's information that might save your life. Dr. Sexy took over the sound mixing this week. I tried my best to get our levels approaching normal in the editing afterwards, but of course I can't get anything right. Be thankful I did SOME sound-reduction on my levels, cuz apparently I'm a noisy mofo. You know how sometimes I warn you that we're a vulgar bunch? No, seriously - this time, you really need to make sure that no one's in the car with you while you're listening to this one. In fact, you probably shouldn't listen to it yourself. Although I was surprised to see (or hear, more accurately) that we came in under an hour this week. We even managed to squeeze in some bitching about Civil War (Tom B sucks!). I'm sure the fact that we're brief totally makes up for our vulgarity. We had to condense it, so it's concentrated vulgarity. I don't really know what to link for regarding Fox's attempt at being funny, so I guess you'll have to settle for the ol' fallback, Wikipedia. If Fox weren't so lame, they'd post segments on the web and make them nice and easy to fine, but it seems the only thing they come close to having in common with Daily Show is stupid ideas about online clips somehow depriving them of popularity. Mon, 12 March 2007 Titles we spoil this week: 52, DETECTIVE COMICS, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA, MANHUNTER, MIDNIGHTER, SHAZAM THE MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL, SUPERMAN BATMAN, WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY, DYNAMO 5, BULLET POINTS, CAPTAIN AMERICA, CRIMINAL, DARK TOWER GUNSLINGER BORN, FANTASTIC FOUR, HULK AND POWER PACK, MARVEL ZOMBIES ARMY OF DARKNESS, MIGHTY AVENGERS, NEWUNIVERSAL, UNCANNY X-MEN. We had a LOT of catching up (ie, bitching) to do with the whole Cap thing, and jump back a bit to talk about Civil War, so pull up a chair and get comfy, we're going to be a while. We also have a lot of trouble speaking this week, and take great delight in our calm, helpful concern with each other to point this out in the most tactful, polite manner possible. We're pretty disgusted with Marvel. They just keep making horrible moves and then they're woefully unprepared to deal with the consequences of those moves. Case in point: a certain hero's death. You might have heard about it? No, it's cool, no one's to blame. Obviously Tony can't be held responsible, he's been a good guy the whole time. I think it's just too sad that Black Panther allowed this to happen. But He works in mysterious ways, that guy... At least you can hear me this week. Not that I have anything important to say, of course. Direct download: N3RDCast_20070312Comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 12:30 AM
Mon, 5 March 2007 NYCC, 2007! We saw the heroes, got drunk, harassed the stars, got
drunk, got our (well, MY) dreams crushed by creators, got a LITTLE
drunk, met a lot of really cool people, and then got drunk. But now
here it is, the final word on the New York Comic Con 2007. Granted,
it’s the final word because we’re a week late, but still…
It’s pretty amazing how I fail to notice the entire time my mic
doesn’t work. I’m actually kind of pissed about that, but luckily I
never have anything interesting to say, so it’s all for the better.
We have to start out with Mouth of Wilson. I’m not one to see live bands very often, because I’m old and boring and don’t like loudness or crowds, but these guys were incredible
live. So incredible, I bought not one, but TWO of their CDs! Well, it
helped that they didn’t have change for a $20, but there you go… But
seriously, check them out, give them a listen. And when they’re rich
and famous, they can owe it all to us…
As far as comic books (which, supposedly, was our purpose there), Silent Devil was the clear winner. They came out incredibly strong at this con with fantastic stuff like Super Frat, In My Life and The Last Sin of Mark Grimm.
Next year, I have to start getting and reading these books Friday night
so I can properly suck up to them over the weekend. Every one of those
guys was fantastic, and I’m so sorry I didn’t get to spend more time
with them. I’m sorry they had to meet me when I was completely drunk.
Normally, I’m so much more charming…
A completely random pick on my part found me with I Am Spartacus, from Cellar Door Publishing.
I really loved this book, both the writing and the artwork. I like that
weird water-painting style (that I have no idea what it is), although I
know a lot of folks don’t. But they’re obviously idiots. That’s a great
book, so check it out.
You guys need to check out these con pics. Sure as hell a ton better than our sorry pics. For starters, Power Girl. Also… Power Girl. I can’t believe we didn’t get a single picture with Bruce,
though. We spent the most time with him out of everyone there, and
although we took some pics at his booth, he’s not in a single one!
Sheesh, some friends we are… Speaking of him, you should give a listen
to his coverage
if you’re interested in a sober person’s experiences. Well, sober and
sane. And less obnoxious. But he had a good spot with the other
podcasters, so he got to see some good stuff. He also posted that
awesome pic he got from Romana Fradon.
But seriously, check out those books, and definitely give a listen to MOW. They’re all awesome, and you’ll be a better person for it!
Oh, and if anyone was unfortunate enough to actually encounter us at
the Con, we’d love to hear from you. The guys insist my idea of
tackling people and shoving our cards in their pockets was a bad idea
for generating more listeners, but what do they know…

Mon, 19 February 2007 Titles we spoil this week: 52, GREEN ARROW, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA, MANHUNTER, SUPERMAN BATMAN VS ALIENS PREDATORS, ASTONISHING X-MEN, FRANKLIN RICHARDS LAB BRAT DIGEST, IMMORTAL IRON FIST DIRECTORS CUT, NEXTWAVE AGENTS OF HATE, RUNAWAYS, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN, THUNDERBOLTS, THUNDERBOLTS PRESENTS ZEMO BORN BETTER, ULTIMATE X-MEN, WOLVERINE ORIGINS. Mon, 12 February 2007 Titles we spoil this week: 52, DETECTIVE COMICS, MIDNIGHTER,
SCALPED, SHAZAM THE MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL, WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY,
BULLET POINTS, DARK TOWER GUNSLINGER BORN, FANTASTIC FOUR THE END,
FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN, NEW AVENGERS,
NEWUNIVERSAL, PUNISHER, SPIDER-MAN AND POWER PACK, SPIDER-MAN REIGN,
UNCANNY X-MEN, TAG CURSED. What shall we do to Bruce’s table at the NY
Comic Con? I’m voting for pants-less manning of said table. With
pant-less men. Also, hawks are pretty vicious. And ever hear of this
comic, Kingdom Come? Dr Sexy finally did. Oh, and Happy Birthday to me.
The Aqua Teen Promotion Press Conference thing is here in all it’s irreverent glory. I absolutely love how the reporters get pissed that these guys aren’t taking it seriously.
I have to say, this is probably the calmest we’ve been in a while.
Probably because we didn’t have any comics of the high-caliber quality
like Black Panther to get good and pissed about, but you can judge for yourself.

Titles we spoil this week: 52, FABLES, INVINCIBLE, CIVIL WAR THE
RETURN, CRIMINAL, DOCTOR STRANGE OATH, MOON KNIGHT, PUNISHER WAR
JOURNAL, SILENT WAR, X-FACTOR, NINJA TALES, JACK OF FABLES, TEEN
TITANS, WALKING DEAD, BLACK PANTHER, DAREDEVIL, ULTIMATE CIVIL WAR
SPIDER-HAM CRISIS, WASTELAND, USAGI. Despite our missing a week, we
still have a relatively short stack. We make up for it by being
horrifically offensive about Black Panther. And by “we, I mean “those
guys. I, of course, am NEVER offensive. Man, we do hate Black Panther,
though. REALLY hate it. Don’t believe me? Give it a listen.
Brutal, huh? HappyJack’s so damn loud with his shrieking at one point,
I actually had to edit the sound levels. I know - editing the N3RDCast?
Unheard of!
We have to whine a bit because nobody commented on our awesome new
theme song. Honestly people, where is our fanfare? Dr. Sexy’s locked
himself in his room, crying hysterically. Now we’ll never get him out
unless you send him love notes about how awesome his theme song is.
Make sure you join us in our good wishes for Bruce’s wife!
We’re going to the Midnight Madness sale at the local comic store. If you’re in the area, drop by. Should be a great time. Or at least a time full of great deals.
I totally don’t know the Four Horsemen obviously, either. HappyJack was kinda right on that one. Just what we need, HappyJack being right.
Oh, and I love the Dr. Sexy at EB Games story. That’s why it’s
there. In case you were wondering. You probably have to see his face
while he’s telling it to appreciate the humor, but, ah… Yeah. Trust me,
it was funny.
And no, I don’t know when I’ll fix the site. Yes, I hate it, too.

Mon, 22 January 2007 Another short list this week: CONAN, CONAN
& THE MIDNIGHT GOD, 52, HELMET OF FATE DETECTIVE CHIMP, RED MENACE,
SPIRIT, FANTASTIC FOUR, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN, SHE-HULK, SPIDER-MAN
REIGN, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, WISDOM, X-MEN FIRST CLASS. We do get
sidetracked quite a bit to talk about 300, Civil War vs. 52, and our
NEW THEME SONG! It’s the hawtness! Except for that beginning bit…
If you haven’t heard of those GI Joe cartoons, you really need to
get out more. And by “out I mean “browse the web. I’m not going to
lie to you: Some of the the videos are dumb (NSFW stuff on those pages! Be warned!). But I love this one. And this one. And of course this one.
And speaking of getting “out, did anyone else rush out to Primatech Paper’s website? Yeah, so I’m a marketing sucker, but those sorts of things
fascinate me - I love to see what they come up with. Not that this is a
proper ARG (more like a simple marketing collector), but it’s still
interesting.

Mon, 15 January 2007 A short list of titles we spoil this week: 52, BATMAN, BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL, GREEN ARROW, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA, OUTSIDERS, WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY, BLADE, PUNISHER, WONDER MAN. But what we lack in titles, we make up for in loud Civil War ranting, more action figure side-tracking, a tiny bit of movie ranting, and some more toy talk. Focus? What's that? I apologize for the delay this week. But I'm hoping it's worth it, as I cleaned up the audio file a HUGE amount and got it to a decent quality. So, you know, you can now listen to the most idiotic comics podcast out there, and it'll sound nice and clear. Sort of. If we can just get HappyJack's running nose and Dr Sexy's pneumonia under control, we'll be in good shape. Me, I sound as perfect as ever, of course. Mon, 8 January 2007 We only have a small stack of titles we spoil this week: 52, MANHUNTER, MIDNIGHTER, SUPERMAN CONFIDENTIAL, 68, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, BULLET POINTS, CIVIL WAR, CIVIL WAR FRONT LINE, IRON MAN HYPERVELOCITY, IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN, NEWUNIVERSAL, PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL, SPIDER-MAN AND POWER PACK, UNCANNY X-MEN. We get REALLY side-tracked on comic movies, the Marvel Comic Book Creator software, Sirius Radio, Tina Fey versus Paris Hilton, delays by artists and writers AGAIN, and we spoil XMen 3, in case you didn't see it yet. Or read the spoilers that whatsisface blabbed on N3 a while ago. Oh, and we talk about the secret hole to the girls' locker room in high school that HappyJack never told me about. We also spend some time bashing Marvel for their whorish marketing tactics and COLOGNE? Are you kidding me? I suppose it'll come as no surprise when you learn how much we hate emo, too. I think it's the Holiday Spirit moving us, because most of what we say is nice. Oh, wait - no, we're still obnoxious jerks! We do fawn over several books this week, though. To our defense (or at least to the defense of the obnoxious part of our souls), there were MANY good books to be poured over. It's a good thing we don't have a lot of other expenses - say, presents for loved ones - that would require our money, because it's all tied up in these juvenile amusements. Sat, 9 December 2006 Titles we spoil this week: 52, BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL, DETECTIVE COMICS, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA, MIDNIGHTER, TRANQUILITY, INVINCIBLE, WALKING DEAD, BEYOND, DOCTOR STRANGE OATH, IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN, MARVEL HOLIDAY SPECIAL, NEWUNIVERSAL, SPIDER-MAN AND POWER PACK, SPIDER-MAN REIGN, STAN LEE MEETS SILVER SURFER, UNCANNY X-MEN, HERO SQUARED, JEREMIAH HARM. It really amazes me that we go on for so long with such a short list. We're just chatty bitches like that, obviously. We do touch on some other news: the Marvel Then vs. Now that featured Stan Lee and Joe Q, moderated by Kevin Smith. Also a bit of celebrity gossip about Nicholas Cage - did you know he was a huge comic fan? I didn't know that. Come and get informed alongside me as Dr Sexy and HappyJack show us the error of our ways! Of course it wouldn't be a N3RDCast if it didn't feature some completely insane uncomfortably diatribes about racism, sexism and a few other -isms thrown in for good measure. But that's not our fault, it's all because of Black Panther. See (or at least listen) for yourself. Direct download: N3RDCast_20061113comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 10:32 PM
Mon, 4 December 2006 Titles we ruin this week: CONAN & THE SONGS OF THE DEAD, 52, BATMAN, BATMAN THE SPIRIT, FLASH THE FASTEST MAN ALIVE, GREEN LANTERN, SUPERMAN BATMAN, TEEN TITANS, CAPTAIN AMERICA, FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, IMMORTAL IRON FIST, NEXTWAVE AGENTS OF HATE, POWERS, PUNISHER, PUNISHER XMAS SPECIAL, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN, SPIDER-MAN FAMILY FEATURING SPIDER CLAN, STAN LEE MEETS DR DOOM, ZOMBIE, HERO STREET, WHISPER, ZOMBIES VS ROBOTS. We also spend WAY too much time speculating on the NYC Comic-con, and give our oh-so-informed opinion of Wizard Magazine's picks of the year. Well, at least their editor and man of the year. I'm wondering if the side effect of the approaching NYC Comic Con is going to be making us chattier bitches as it gets nearer. I mean, obviously we're excited about it, but we tend to get a little blathery. I'm pretty sure that's a word, yes. I'd apologize for these being so long, but we have too damn much fun recording them, so I don't feel particularly apologetic over it. Plus, it's not like anyone else listens to them, anyway. HappyJack and Dr. Sexy both confessed to never listening to the show anyway, so there goes 2/3rds of our listeners. So if you're ready to spend some time listening to our... voices... You can give it a listen here. Enjoy! Direct download: N3RDCast_20061106comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 12:01 AM
Mon, 27 November 2006 A double-long episode this week, featuring Bruce Rosenberger. Titles we spoil: ESCAPISTS, 52, ASTRO CITY THE DARK AGE BOOK TWO, SHADOWPACT, DEADWORLD, INVINCIBLE, JACK STAFF, ASTONISHING X-MEN, CIVIL WAR, IRON MAN, MOON KNIGHT, NEW AVENGERS, SQUADRON SUPREME, UNION JACK, WHAT IF SPIDER-MAN THE OTHER, X-MEN FIRST CLASS, CONAN, BOYS, JACK OF FABLES, MAN CALLED KEV, RED MENACE, WONDER WOMAN, LOOKING GLASS WARS HATTER M, WALKING DEAD, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, AVENGERS EARTHS MIGHTIEST HEROES II, CIVIL WAR FRONT LINE , DAREDEVIL, FANTASTIC FOUR THE END, PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL, WOLVERINE, X-FACTOR, DAMAGED, ENIGMA CIPHER, PLANETARY BRIGADE ORIGINS. I don't know why Bruce chose to brave our idiocy up-close and personal, but I can only hope he came through unscathed. We'll know if he starts dropping the F bomb every other word and insulting Joe Q in his podcast, no doubt. I'm still surprised at how long we can blab we when (don't) put our minds to it. Mon, 13 November 2006 Special guest-star this week: Lon, our amiable comic store guy! Titles we spoil this week: 52, BATMAN, FABLES, GREEN ARROW, TEEN TITANS, AMAZING SPIDER-GIRL, AVENGERS EARTHS MIGHTIEST HEROES II, BULLET POINTS, CIVIL WAR YOUNG AVENGERS & RUNAWAYS, DOCTOR STRANGE OATH, ETERNALS, FRANKLIN RICHARDS HAPPY FRANKSGIVING, MAGICIAN APPRENTICE, PUNISHER, ULTIMATE X-MEN, WISDOM, WOLVERINE ORIGINS, DAMNED. We also ridicule some ridiculous comic hero shows from the 70s - did you know Spidey was a bad guy in turkey? Oh, and Marvel vs. Guiding Light? YOU WHORES! Why don't you just start including a free turd with every comic purchased? No, no, it's fine - we understand. The almighty dollar. I mean, hey, what do your loyal readers matter if you can make a few extra bucks, right? Direct download: N3RDCast_20061113comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 12:01 AM
Wed, 8 November 2006 Woody, Dr Sexy and I sit down to share our brilliance on the concept of merchandise for MOGs. Inspired by WoW's CCG, we consider the repercussions of putting your brand on something other than your game. That, and we reminisce about some rather ridiculous stories involving our own terrible MOG addictions. Or at least Woody's. It's funny to laugh at other's frustrations! It's been an awfully long time since we graced you with our wisdom. If you've missed us, the feeling's mutual, believe you me! But you can get your fix of us right here! Mon, 6 November 2006 After a long break, we're back! I know, you missed us. We got the card and the flowers, thanks. Titles we spoil this week: 52, BLUE BEETLE, DETECTIVE COMICS, EX MACHINA, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA, MIDNIGHTER, SUPERMAN CONFIDENTIAL, BEYOND, CRIMINAL, FANTASTIC FOUR THE END, INCREDIBLE HULK, IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN, UNCANNY X-MEN, WHAT IF AVENGERS DISASSEMBLED. Also, we go a bit insane about Ted Kord here, so be warned. Direct download: N3RDCast_20061106comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 12:01 AM
Mon, 16 October 2006 Titles we spoil this week: 52, NEIL GAIMANS NEVERWHERE, CROSS BRONX, BEYOND, DOCTOR STRANGE OATH, FANTASTIC FOUR, GIANT SIZE WOLVERINE, INCREDIBLE HULK, IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN, MARVEL TEAM-UP. The bad news is that I got the soundboard working, so expect to be annoyed. I think playing the soundboard for my friends was the entire reason I started these N3RDCasts, to be honest. It just makes me laugh. No doubt it'll make you shudder, but that'll learn ya. It's funny when HappyJack gets angry and I interrupt him with Mr. Rogers quotes, though. That alone is worth listening. Mon, 9 October 2006 Titles we spoil this week: 52, BATMAN, BLUE BEETLE, JACK OF FABLES, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA, TRIALS OF SHAZAM, INVINCIBLE, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, CABLE DEADPOOL, CAPTAIN AMERICA, CIVIL WAR FRONT LINE, CIVIL WAR YOUNG AVENGERS & RUNAWAYS, DAREDEVIL, ETERNALS, HEROES FOR HIRE, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, ULTIMATES 2. Civil War continues to be woefully unbalanced, but we're sure NEXT issue will show us what we're missing, right Joe Q? Don't ask me why Sexy is so paranoid. I think we have to cut him off of caffeine before we start recording. Direct download: N3RDCast_20061009comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 7:00 AM
Mon, 2 October 2006 Coming to you from the McDonald's parking lot - that's how you ensure AUTHENTIC fan-boy sound, I tell ya. Titles we spoil this week: 52, ASTONISHING X-MEN, MOON KNIGHT, X-FACTOR, NEXTWAVE AGENTS OF HATE, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN, CIVIL WAR, CIVIL WAR X-MEN, WOLVERINE. Mostly we focus on the Civil War stuff. A lot to talk about there. There's also some...disturbing dream talk. Normally I'd insert a warning to the 'delicate'-types about this N3RDCast, but honestly, do I still need to? As always, comment below on our brilliant Civil War insights, or email us. If you still want to get in on our obscene phone call contest, there's still time! Call us at (646) 797-2763 or Skype to "N3RDCast." Mon, 25 September 2006 I really love it when we have time to get together and just take our time going over books. Not because we get into any great discussions or anything; mostly just because it's a good excuse to vent all my stupidity I normally keep oh-so-well contained the rest of the week. For example, instead of spending all our time discussing comic books as we should, we instead spend our time talking about the tv shows we watch. Plus, we reveal our exciting N3 Obscene Call Contest! You, ah, probably don't want the kids to listen to this one... Titles we spoil this week: 52 WEEK, BATMAN LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT, EX MACHINA, FABLES, GREEN ARROW, MAN CALLED KEV, CAPTAIN AMERICA, CIVIL WAR FILES, INCREDIBLE HULK, MS MARVEL, ULTIMATE X-MEN, WOLVERINE ORIGINS, WASTELAND. Also, reviewing indie books from the Baltimore Comic-Con: Some Big Lumberjack, The Last Sin of Mark Grimm, and Chronicles of a Bounty Hunter. Oh, and we also spoil the upcoming Civil War, so you shouldn't listen to this until you're caught up on Civil War. Mon, 18 September 2006 Titles we spoil this week: 52 WEEK, DETECTIVE COMICS, SIDEKICK, BEYOND, FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, MARVEL 1602 FANTASTICK FOUR, MARVEL TEAM-UP, PUNISHER, SPIDER-MAN SPECIAL BLACK & BLUE & READ ALL OVER, UNCANNY X-MEN. Also, Kwip's tales of the Baltimore Comic-Con, featuring such luminaries as Dan Slott, Jimmy Palmiotti, Tim Truman, John Ostrander and the ever-popular Scott Kurtz. Wed, 6 September 2006 Titles we spoil this week include: 52, ALL STAR SUPERMAN, BOYS, JUSTICE, SUPERMAN BATMAN, TEEN TITANS, CABLE DEADPOOL, CIVIL WAR YOUNG AVENGERS & RUNAWAYS , SHE-HULK, ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR, ULTIMATE X-MEN ANNUAL, X-FACTOR, X-MEN. Also, a moment of tenderness for Steve Irwin. Why oh why couldn't it have been the Wild Boyz? Direct download: N3RDCast_20060906comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 8:00 PM
Fri, 1 September 2006 A very short list of spoilers for a very short N3RDCast. This episode, we spoil: BLUE BEETLE, JACK OF FABLES, HEROES FOR HIRE, NEW AVENGERS, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, and WOLVERINE. The good news is that this recording is SOOOOO bad, you won't hear anything we say anyway, so it doesn't matter! The good news is you only have to suffer for ten minutes or so. As I might have mentioned before, our schedules are a bit crazy this week. In an attempt to make up for not having a lot of free time, we attempt to meet and record at the pizza shop next to our local comic shop. As a result, you can hear pretty much every other conversation other than ours much more clearly. To wind things up, we got beat up and called nerds by some bullies, who then took our lunch money! Wed, 30 August 2006 Nothing but love episode, spoiling the titles: 52, BATMAN, DMZ, FLASH THE FASTEST MAN ALIVE, JACK OF FABLES, WONDER WOMAN, FEAR AGENT, ASTONISHING X-MEN, DAREDEVIL, ETERNALS, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, ULTIMATES ANNUAL. Short but oh so loving! We're still struggling to find time to record these. It seems like it should be so easy - grab a few beers, turn on the recorder, be brilliant. But with our various work (or lack thereof) schedules, and now Kwipette being in Physical Therapy, I've been raining on our parades lately and screwing things up. But speaking of... Nothing, really, just speaking: How would you like to help us choose a new theme song? My little brother is quite the accomplished composer. In fact, he was just hired by the Cirque du Soleil as a composer. No, really. He got all the talent in our family. Little bastich. ANYWAY. He's got some cool songs out there, and I'm going to steal a new one for our theme song. Go <A HREF="http://www.indie911.com/index.php?cID=12538">here</A>, give them a listen, see what you think. Let us know what you think as far as picking a new theme song. He composed our current intro & extro songs, but I'm always willing to steal even more from my siblings. Comment here on which you prefer, or <A HREF="mailto:n3rdcast@gmail.com">email us</A>, or you can call us at (646) 797-2763 or Skype to "N3RDCast". Or hey, if you like the current ones, let us know that, too. We'll ignore you, of course, but still, it'll be fun to mock your opinions... Wed, 23 August 2006 Only a few titles we spoil this show: WASTELAND, CHRONICLES OF WORMWOOD, THE BOYS, NEXTWAVE AGENTS OF HATE, SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN, ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR, ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL. But what we lack up in length we make up for in... offensiveness? Direct download: N3RDCast_20060823comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 12:01 AM
Mon, 21 August 2006 This episode we're only spoiling a few titles: IRON MAN, DEADWORLD, 52 WEEK, GREEN LANTERN CORPS, CIVIL WAR X-MEN, GHOST RIDER, IRON MAN, THUNDERBOLTS. But we're full of news about Joe Q's inability to stand up for gay rights, Congress is stupid, how much we hate EVERYONE for the Civil War delay, and some love for Kevin O'Neill. Chock full of gay references, so watch out, Joe Q! Direct download: N3RDCast_20060821comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 7:00 AM
Wed, 16 August 2006 Titles we spoil this week: CONAN & THE SONGS OF THE DEAD, 52, FABLES, GREEN ARROW, MAN CALLED KEV, BEYOND, CIVIL WAR FRONT LINE, FANTASTIC FOUR FIRST FAMILY, INCREDIBLE HULK, MS MARVEL, NEW X-MEN, SHE-HULK, SQUADRON SUPREME, ULTIMATE X-MEN, WOLVERINE ORIGINS. This is our first time trying the new, shortened N3RDCast format, and you'll be able to tell by how flustered we become! Yaaay, we're like professionals! Well, except for the cursing and getting just about everything wrong. Direct download: N3RDCast_20060815comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 12:01 AM
Wed, 9 August 2006 Truly a technically superior N3RDCast this week! Titles we spoil: BPRD UNIVERSAL MACHINE, USAGI YOJIMBO, 52 WEEK, CREEPER, DETECTIVE COMICS, EX MACHINA, OUTSIDERS, INVINCIBLE, FANTASTIC FOUR, FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, MARVEL TEAM-UP, MOON KNIGHT, ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, UNCANNY X-MEN, X-MEN FAIRY TALES, WORMWOOD. Oh, and a very vulgar discussion about Superman Returns. Direct download: N3RDCast_20060809comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 12:01 AM
Mon, 31 July 2006 Titles we spoil this week: 52 WEEK, BATMAN, BLUE BEETLE, JACK OF FABLES , NEIL GAIMANS NEVERWHERE, SIDEKICK, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, BLACK PANTHER, CAPTAIN AMERICA, CIVIL WAR FRONT LINE, CIVIL WAR YOUNG AVENGERS & RUNAWAYS, DAREDEVIL, NEW AVENGERS, WOLVERINE, X-MEN. This is probably the quickest N3RDCast we've ever done (and will likely ever do again!). Before we started recording, we were certain we'd have to rush. After we finished in a half hour, we sat around looking at each other and realized we rushed too much. So we had a few beers before getting back to work... Wed, 26 July 2006 Titles we spoil this week: 52, FLASH, JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA, SHADOWPACT, SUPERMAN BATMAN, CABLE DEADPOOL , CIVIL WAR, CIVIL WAR X-MEN, DAILY BUGLE CIVIL WAR NEWSPAPER SPECIAL, FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN, SHE-HULK, ULTIMATE X-MEN, UNCANNY X-MEN, X-FACTOR. Thu, 29 June 2006 A whopper of a week for comic book readers - I hate to think of all the forests killed making this massive stack of comics!

Also, listen to hear how Kwip STILL can't get the sound levels right, so HappyJack is SCREAMING while Kwip and Dr. Sexy are barely legible! We are all about the professionalism!

Oh - and did we mention Civil War? We should have, because SPEEDBALL LIVES!!! Of course, now Joe Quesada can walk around feeling smug at how he tricked everyone, the wascally wabbit that he is. Ooooo, if only we'd guessed that! Direct download: N3RDCast_20060612comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 7:00 AM

Tue, 30 May 2006 Batman, Blue Beetle, New Avengers, Powers, She-Hulk, X-Factor, Wolverine, Wyrms and Tag & Bink (again!). Wed, 24 May 2006 I was going to try and write down all the comics we talk about this week, but first I have to warn you: YOU WILL BE OFFENDED IN THIS N3RDCAST! Also, f Joe Quesada for cancelling The Thing. So there.
I guess we also discuss 52, Wolverine: Origins, Jeremiah Harm, and... erm... I'm pretty sure there's a couple others, but I think I blew an artery screaming about Joe Quesada, so I've forgotten.

Mon, 15 May 2006 Without HappyJack, Dr Sexy and Kwip do their best to fight through Fantastic Four First Family, Jeremiah Harm, She Hulk and some less than good comics (52, anyone?). Plus, a special section on caring for your comics! Direct download: N3RDCast_20060515comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 10:28 AM
Sun, 7 May 2006 Featuring a VERY special soundtrack this week courtesy of Scott Kurtz, the Foo Fighters, Madonna and Poppa Kurtz, we take a look at this week's comics, including the first Civil War and the last Identity Crisis, among others. And if you're wondering about the Scott Kurtz thing, first read this. Then go listen to this. Make sense now? Direct download: N3RDCast_20060508comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 10:55 PM
Mon, 1 May 2006 So many things are in this podcast your face might possibly melt upon listening: HappyJack reveals the new standards for suck with the latest Bludhaven, a heart-breaking announcement from Dr. Sexy, our first phone call, and team N3 throws down the gauntlet and launches our first war. On top of that, the new Blue Beatle, Planet Hulk, Astonishing X-Men, and - if you can believe it - HappyJack bitches about Spidey's new costume!

Mon, 24 April 2006 Making up for last week's drought in comics, this week finds us with a HUGE amount of new releases to talk about: Justice, Next Wave, Daredevil, etc etc - and even (gasp) Nightwing! Direct download: N3RDCast_20060424comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 10:58 PM
Mon, 17 April 2006 A tough week in comics, with only a few good picks (but of course, plenty to bitch about!). The new hardware’s on-scene, though, so hopefully you’ll notice a bit of improvement. It only took me several hours and repeated trips to the local Radio Shack to finally get all the pieces I needed, and here we are with a finished product!
Of course I probably screwed something up during the upload and managed to destroy the quality…

Mon, 3 April 2006 Once again, fiddling with our equipment finds this week with the extra-sensitive mic. So sensitive, in fact, you can tell the minute I become aroused (as we talk about the start of the Civil War series) by the sound of my nipples scratching against my tshirt.
There's some colorful imagery for your Monday morning!
There were a lot of good releases last week, and we've all got several to heap our praises upon. We're finally beginning to find our rhythm with these, and although we'll never even come CLOSE to behaving professionally, I feel confident to state that I'm not completely humiliated by this.
That'll come tomorrow, when I post the interview with Rick Dakan that's the aural equivalent of a train wreck. Yaay technology!
For now, here it is, complete in all it's comic-y goodness. Enjoy! Direct download: N3RDCast_20060403comics.mp3 Category: Comics -- posted at: 8:45 AM
